Black and White Photography

This course will teach you about the Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera and how to control it manually. You will also learn how to develop B&W film and printing techniques, and you will have the opportunity to develop a project from a given theme.

Course content (Please note: this course is not digital)

This level will focus on developing individual style and ideas through to the completion of a project. A non compulsory project will be available for students that need direction and demonstrations on advanced photography techniques will support learning at this level.

Teaching

Sessions are based around discussion, demonstrations of techniques and practical work where you will work on your own and with others.

Equipment and materials costs

Introductory materials are included in the course fees but you will have to pay for film and paper after the first introductory sessions; these can be purchased from the College at cost price.
