Level 4 (Certificate of Higher Education)
Level 4 introduces students to the fundamental theories and skills that will lay the foundations for the rest of the course. These will include Mathematics of computing, network and security, and the fundamental principles underpinning information systems and database design.
In order to support more specific roles such software engineer, business analysts, data analyst and cyber security analyst, specialism modules such as 'Cyber Security in Society', 'Algorithm and Data Types' and 'Business Environment' modules that make each route distinctive to the specialism being undertaken. There is also a module that gives academic credit for learning that occurs in the workplace.

By the end of Level 4 you will be able to:

Level 5 (Diploma of Higher Education)
Level 5 builds on the skills and knowledge obtained at Level 4, with modules covering the design and implementation of web based database systems, networks and security, and requirements engineering. These, and the skills introduced at Level 4 are synthesised and developed further in the
Level 5 builds on the skills and knowledge obtained at Level 4, with modules covering the design and implementation of web and mobile applications, system analysis and design and human-centred computing. These, and the skills introduced at Level 4 are synthesised and developed further in the Level 5 'Apprenticeship Team project', which will address a ‘live’ business requirement or employer provided scenario. By the end of Level 5 you will have:
gained knowledge and a critical understanding of the well-established principles of business and information systems development and the way in which those principles have been developed
the ability to apply these concepts and principles in an employment context
developed knowledge of methods of enquiry and an ability to evaluate critically the appropriateness of different approaches to managing and solving problems in the area of business and information systems
been introduced to a range of established techniques to initiate and undertake critical analysis of information, and to propose solutions to problems arising from that analysis.
Level 6 (BSc Honours)
Level 6 modules focus on the acquisition of skills in project management, computer security and any specific specialism area. Students will carry out a major (60 credit) industry-based project and will also pick a specialist option from a business or computing area.

By the end of Level 6 you will:
have acquired coherent and detailed knowledge and skills relating to key aspects of business, project management and IT/IS deployment within business for strategic advantage
have conceptual understanding enabling you to put forward arguments and solve problems using appropriate methods and techniques, and will be able to comment on aspects of current research in the IT/Business areas
be able to demonstrate the ability to manage your own learning in a range of contexts and will have further developed a range of transferrable skills necessary for employment.
