4 GCSEs Grade C or above, or equivalent plus portfolio of artwork.

· You will be helped to explore a range of materials and making processes in our workshops so you know how things are made
· We will encourage you to develop your thinking and work with you to discover your strengths
· We have excellent industrial links, you will be working on some projects set by architects and designers who will help you develop your ideas
· Visits to exciting exhibitions and workshops
· Sampling digital design tools like: 3D Studio Max, Photoshop etc.

Assessment
All units will be internally assessed, with some units being verified through National Standard Sampling by the Awarding Body.

· Application of Number

The course is complemented with AS Fine Art (Sculpture) in the 1st year. This can be converted to A2 qualification in the 2nd year (subject to agreed criteria of achievement).

What can I do next?
This specialised course will help you to progress onto a range of 3D courses at Degree, Foundation Degree or BTEC HND level. You will be equipped to apply to the following courses:
Interior design, architecture, product design, exhibition design, transport design, furniture design, theatre design, TV/film set and prop design, teaching in design and even computer games design and computer animation.

Successful completion of the course will enable students to take part in the College Compact arrangement to progress to higher level courses within the college.
