BTEC Extended Diploma in Animal Management Level 3

You will have three days in college, with a mix of theory and practical work in specialist animal units, for example reptile, aquarium and mammal. You will also have one day at a work placement per week. The course involves industrial visits to zoos, sanctuaries and animal centres.
On this programme you will:

• study and develop skills in the science, husbandry and welfare of animals and more specific aspsects of the industry

• learn to understand and promote animal health

• plan and monitor animal feeding

• learn about wildlife management and rehabilitation

• study pet store design, principlesof aquatics, dog grooming, estate skills, animal biology, animal behaviour and communication

Entry Requirements

• A minimum of five GCSEs grade A*-C, including English language, and maths at grade D or above, or
• a level 2 qualification at overall merit grade, English at level 2 and maths at level 1.
