Business - BTEC First Diploma
What will I study?
The main difference between the First Diploma & GCSE level is in how students learn about business. The First Diploma requires knowledge of the basic terms and theories and an understanding of how business works. But the main method of learning is through first hand experience of what is going on in businesses. Each time students shops or has any work it gives them work experience. 6 units will be studies and these are all assessed through the completion of assignments. Students will also complete a work placement with a local business to gain practical experience. Another important part of the course is Key Skills, which are assessed through the completion of a portfolio and an exam.

How can I progress?
If students achieve a merit or distinction grade, Key Skills and a satisfactory reference from their Personal Tutor, they may progress on to an advanced programme. Students usually progress on to National Diploma in Business.

What will I need to qualify for this course?
