BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Martial Arts Instruction and Club Coaching

Through direct tuition and scenario activities the learner will develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of how to teach and coach martial arts. The learner will be introduced to a number of concepts that will aid in the structuring of martial arts and combat sport activities, from learning about how to work with Children and Vulnerable groups, risk assessing, promoting the sport across a diverse community and how to teach through activity. Academic study is required along with practical assessment of skills. The subjects covered include: Unit 1: Health & Safety in the Workplace Unit 2: Preparing to Undertake Martial Arts Training Unit 5: Equality and Diversity in Martial Arts Unit 6: The protection of Children and Vulnerable Groups Unit 7: The EDIP Instructional Technique Unit 12: Teaching Through Activity All learners will be required to submit a portfolio based on the course content and personal study. The assessments will be conducted by staff independent to the course to ensure its neutrality and further external verification of the awards will be conducted by Edexcel.
