About this course
In order to qualify for this course students will need; *A BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in a related subject (at least a merit), *An Intermediate GNVQ in a related subject (must achieve at least a merit), *At least four GCSEs at grades A*-C, including Art.

What will I study?
Students will study a broad range of artistic skills including, Drawing, Painting, Print Making Photography, Digital Design Solutions including computer packages, 3D Design, Fashion and Textile Design.
How can I progress?
If students want to go straight into employment they could work in a range of careers including Interior Design; Fashion Production / Retail; Fabric and Textile Design; Graphic Design; or Freelance Photography. Students could progress directly into higher education or via a pre-degree foundation programme in one of the following subject areas- 3D Design; Fashion and Textiles; Fine Art; Graphic Design; Multimedia; or Photography.

Course Structure
Students take eight core units common to all Art and Design Pathways: *Drawing and Development, *Historical and Contextual understanding, *Materials, Techniques and Processes, *Ideas and Concepts, *Visual and Communication, *Art and Design Exploration, *Art and Design Application, *Art and Design Realisation. Students take ten specialist units from the following subject areas: *3D Design, *Graphic Design, *Multimedia, *Photography, *Fine Art, *Textiles, *Fashion.
