2. Course description There are three pathways to choose from on this course: information systems; sales and marketing; and small business enterprise. Whichever pathway you decide on, the core modules you'll study include: · developing business skills · business liability · managing communications · marketing tools · business finance · employment law · work placement (May to July) · human resources management · business decision-making · research project · management and leadership Your specialist modules on this small business enterprise pathway will include: · entrepreneurship · enterprise development Your final year research project will allow you to combine many of the skills you will have developed to produce findings about an area of particular interest to you. This will help with your progression if you decide to move on to a top-up degree after successful completing this course. You'll get the opportunity to complete an industrial placement in your first year. You'll need to arrange this by February of the first year.

Entry requirements You will need a minimum of 56 points on the new UCAS tariff (140 on the old tariff) from: · at least two A Levels at ‘A2' · a BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma · International Baccalaureate You'll also need a minimum of GCSEs at grade A*-C in Maths and English Language, or equivalent. If you have the ILEX Level 3 Diploma you are welcome to apply. Mature students with relevant experience and/or qualifications, including an Access to HE Diploma within a relevant area, are welcome to apply.* *You may be required to attend an interview. 4. Equipment required Where appropriate, any equipment required (e.g. protective clothing) will be discussed with you at interview/enrolment.
