By studying this module you will learn how to: Manage work activities to achieve organisational objectives Select and apply costing systems and techniques Understand the key functions of financial planning and control Apply project planning and scheduling methods to an engineering project What skills will I gain? By studying this course you will: Gain an appreciation of business organisations and the application of standard costing techniques Gain an insight into the key functions underpinning financial planning and control Expand your knowledge of managerial and supervisory techniques Learn and apply concepts of project planning and scheduling Understand how to justify projects using financial tools Learn how to develop resource and project plans in the form of Gantt charts and using software Learn how to manage work activities using methods such as Just in Time (JIT) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) How will I be assessed? This is an assignment-based course and there are no exams. You will be continually assessed throughout the course via assignments and the production of a detailed portfolio What can I do next? Completion of the module will enable you to: Use the skills you have gained in the workplace Continue with further study and progress to the HNC/D in engineering
