Unit 1 1hr 15mins Short answer questions and extended responses based on a mini case study 40% of AS Grade

Units 2 - 1hr 30mins Compulsory, multi part data response questions 60% of AS

A2 CONTENT
Unit 3 Strategies for Success
Unit 4 The Business Environment and Managing Change

A2 ASSESSMENT
Unit 3 1hr 45mins Questions requiring extended answers based on an unseen case study drawing upon knowledge from AS units 25% of A level

Unit 4 - 1hr 45mins Pre-release research tasks leading to the first section of a two section examination Second section will consist of choice of essays. All questions will be essay style and synoptic therefore drawing upon knowledge from all four units 25% of A level

HOW WILL I STUDY?
In order to be successful you will need to be able to collect, analyse and interpret data, therefore you will need to research material using the Internet for company information and the learning resource centre. Business students are provided with opportunities to attend conferences and to complete a work experience fortnight.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
As part of an advanced level programme, a minimum of 4 relevant G.C.S.E.s at grade C or above (or the equivalent) including English at grade C.

LENGTH OF COURSE
AS level is one year, followed by a second year for those progressing to A2 level.

Students with AS/A level Business Studies will have access to a wide range of careers and higher education opportunities. Popular careers for business students include business management, accountancy, marketing, ICT, banking, insurance and retailing.
