WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
This course is designed to develop the learners skills in both office software applications and the administrative functions and activities needed in the modern office environment. Level 1 and level 2 will be offered during the course.

WHAT DO I NEED?
WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
You will need to attend classes for approximately 15 hours a week. In addition you may be expected to spend a further 5-8 hours per week on coursework and work experience. There are externally assessed examinations for Units 1 & 3, assignments for Units 2 & 4, and practical assignments for Unit 5. ECDL is assessed internally and moderated externally.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
- OCR Diploma / Certificate in Administration

- Preparing business communications developing the skills in business English to handle complex information, to extract relevant material and present in an appropriate format.

- Maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and customers - developing communication skills and teamwork and handling a range of situations including problems and complaints.

- Working in business organisations - developing an understanding of the working environment and the issues affecting both employers and employees.

- Following office procedures to complete tasks - understanding the purpose and importance of office procedures and developing skills in review and evaluation of those procedures.

- Create, manage and integrate files using a computer software system safely and securely to create and manage files, directories/folders for a number of applications.

- Certificate in Text Processing Units - Text processing & Word processing.

Additionalities- Functional Skills
The College is committed to you studying for national qualifications in Maths, English and ICT within your vocational course. This will help you get the most out of your work, education and everyday life.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
- OCR Certificate in Administration (level 1 or 2) and/or
- OCR Diploma Administration (level 1 or 2)
- ECDL (European Computer Driving License (level 1or 2)

If you are aged under 19 at the start of the course you will also complete a programme of Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT. These Functional Skills are an essential requirement for employment progression, higher education and other further education courses.

1o503-09 Course fees 0 16-18 year olds, 544(19) 19 years and over

- Employment in a wide variety of administrative/office settings

- Progression route Apprenticeships for 16-24 year olds.
