What will I study?
This course (formerly NNEB) provides a recognised qualification in Child Care. You attend training at the College as well as a work placement. All work placements are carefully selected and approved to provide practical experience in nurseries, schools and hospitals. Observation of children forms an integral part of your course. This course is 16 hours a week plus placements. Mature students with childcare responsibilities can attend 10am-3pm. You need to allocate time for private study.

What qualification will I get? The CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE - Council for Awards in Children`s Care and Education) is awarded on successful completion of all units, at least 80% attendance record and successful completion of the practical evidence record profile.
What can I do after the course?
The CACHE Diploma qualifies you to work in nursery schools and classes, special schools, day nurseries, the NHS, private families, assessment centres, community and workplace nurseries. The Diploma is equivalent to 3 A Levels and is now a recognised entry qualification for nursing, midwifery and other related degree courses such as the Foundation Degree in Early Years at City and courses such as the Foundation Degree in Early Years at City and Islington College.
