Course Aims:
To learn to decorate cakes using a variety of mediums and techniques
Course Content:
Royal icing, sugar paste, frills, moulded flowers, pastillage, marzipan, flower paste and brush embroidery

Exam:
Assessment is informal and ongoing. Students will produce a portfolio of work showing completion/evidence of three mandatory units which are assessed by the tutor and verified by an external NCFE moderator. As an integral part of the course all students will be expected to complete a workbook evidencing competence in the assessment criteria.

NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Creative Craft (Cake Decoration).

Learners must provide their own materials.
Full details will be given by the course Tutor on enrolment.
There is an estimated overall cost to the student of 70 for materials/ equipment throughout the year for cake decorating.This will be payable by the student as the weeks progress according to the planned activities.
Additional cake bases may also be required.
Duration:
Two hours a week for 30 weeks
