The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and AED Level 2 course teaches the essential skills required by an AED operator and will give you the confidence to know what to do in this type of emergency. No previous first aid knowledge is necessary to attend this course.

About this course
You must be able to kneel & bend down throughout the course to perform first aid techniques and for the final practical assessments.
On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and AED Level 2 certificate. I have been a trainer for 10 years. I train a variety of subjects, including security, licensing, first aid and teacher training. I have worked in the security industry for over 20 years, in various disciplines, including Close Protection, Door Supervision and as a CCTV operative. I utilise a variety of training techniques to ensure every learner feels included within the classroom environment.
Course programme
- An understanding of basic life saving requirements.
- The basic principles that underpin basic life support.
- Why early intervention is necessary.
- The different types of cardiopulmonary arrest.
- Demonstration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Demonstration of compression only resuscitation.
- Demonstration on how to manage a choking casualty.
- Handover and reporting techniques.
- Demonstrate the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
- An understanding of the differences when using AED on a child.
- Demonstration on how to put a casualty in the recovery position and the risks posed.
- To be able to identify basic maintenance and troubleshoot problems with an AED machine.
- To understand and describe the safe use of an AED.
The course is run at our training room over 4 hours. The qualification is assessed through both practical observation and oral questioning through the duration of the course by one of our trainers. Learners must be able to practically demonstrate the application of the correct techniques that have been taught.
