This NVQ is relevant for people who are involved in the transport and delivery of goods by light vehicle, van, motor cycle or pedal cycle. This is a work-oriented qualification and is only suitable for those who have access to a real working environment. It is open to candidates over the age of16, of either gender and there are no entry barriers on grounds of race, creed or previous academic attainment or learning. Candidates can start working towards this qualification whilst developing the knowledge and skills required for the relevant statutory driving test and licence. What will I learn?
To provide people involved in the delivery of goods with the opportunity to demonstrate that they have the skills and knowledge to carry out their role to national standards. The range of units, reflect practical competencies, deemed crucial by the industry, to safely and effectively carry and deliver goods in a light vehicle. These include load security, vehicle preparation, route planning and key driving skills such as driving the vehicle in restricted places. Units of Competence: The national occupation standards that apply to Carry and Deliver Goods at level 2 are contained in a group of eleven units. The unit numbers are those developed by Skills for Logistics and are the national occupational standards at level 2 and 3. Each unit covers a particular activity which is broken down into unit modules: Unit title & Unit number: Mandatory units: 1. Contribute to effective working relationships 2.
