Course Overview
This course aims to enable candidates:
- provide candidates with knowledge and insight into the principles, concepts and application of Cognitive Behavioural Theory and Skills.
- Provide an evaluative perspective to the concepts.
- enable candidates to consider the value of CBT within their own Core Model.
- Encourage critique on the value of cognitive skills and techniques and support candidate development of these and other CBT stratagies in practice.
Course Structure
The programme consists of 60 Guided Learning Hours (plus one to one tutorials).

Ongoing evidence of skills application in role-play throughout the programme

2000 word theoretical assignment incorporating a case example to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of CBT and the application of an appropriate treatment programme, based on a specific personal problem using the ABC model of psychological disturbance.
