It's a great learning experience, the tutor support is second to none and I really feel part of a community with this institution. I can't wait to show-off my certification.

If you have little or no previous experience of teaching English as a second language and want to gain an introductory qualification in this field, this course is designed to meet your needs. You will study language and methodology to develop your understanding of language and will observe classes taught by experienced ESOL teachers. You will prepare lessons and teach learners under the supervision of an experienced teacher and learn how to evaluate and provide feedback to your learners. You will also have to do some home study and assignments. There are no end-of-course examinations as you will be assessed on a continuous and integrated basis. Assessments made by your college tutors will be validated by an External Assessor appointed by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
Progression:
This qualification enables you to start teaching ESOL in this country and abroad. Following the CELTA course (which includes PTLLS accreditation), successful trainees can go on to study for the DTLLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Life Long Learning Sector) after which they can apply for QTLS.
