About the course: This qualification gives the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of a range of skills giving you a vocational experience of the world of work. They are designed as an introduction to the workplace and will enable progression to other qualifications, which can confirm work-based competence.

Course Content:
Each pathway consists of:
  • a compulsory unit in Health and Safety
  • two units from a core of eight
  • three specialist units from the chosen pathway or two specialist units from the chosen pathway and one option unit


Learning Style:
The course will offer the Learning Styles of V.A.R.K which comprises of:
  • Visual
  • Auditory
  • Reading/Writing
  • Kinaesthetics


Equipment Requirements:
CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES
  • 2H Pencil
  • Pen
  • Ruler
  • Rubber

WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES
  • Adequate Safety Footwear
  • Bib and brace/overalls


Assessment: Practical and small written assignments.

Progression:
These qualifications are designed to enable vertical and lateral progression. Vertically the learner could be expected to progress through the entry sub-levels and then to a level 1 qualification. Where learners have reached their full potential at say Entry 2, then these learners would benefit from a lateral progression through other pathways.

Additional Information:
Punctuality and attendance (minimum 80%) must be adhered to achieve this accreditation.
