CG 7303 Preparing To Teach - Lifelong Learning (PTLLS)

About the course:
This course is for pre-service or in-service teachers who are new to teaching and training or those wishing to teach or train. It is designed as a qualification which will equip a wide range of teachers and facilitators with a 'threshold license to teach'. It does not entitle candidates to teach in the sector, but it is the entry qualification which allows progression to the 7304 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) and the 7305 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. It is suitable for those who work or want to work as teachers in the Lifelong Learning Sector; technicians and support staff in further and adult education; and training personnel in commerce, industry and the public sector DTLLS).

Course Content:
Candidates will learn to adopt an integrated approach to the theory and practice of teaching; to identify principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation; to reflect on own practice; to develop communication and inter-personal skills; and to develop an awareness of their professional role and responsibilities. Even if you have a level 2 qualification you will be required to demonstrate competency.PTTLS may be awarded at level 3 or level 4.

Those wishing to progress onto the Certificate in Teaching and Learning (CTLLS) or other Teaching Qualifications will find this helpful.
Additional Information:
Attendance is part time, one session a week for 10 weeks. No teaching hours are required for this course.
