Chi Kung is a simple form of movement exercise which is both energising and relaxing. It is easy to learn. Chi is energy, life force, breath, and Kung simply means work, so energy cultivation through regular practice. You will learn more on the key principles and philosophy of Chi Kung and the Five Elements. Two of the Five Elements have been covered in Term 1 and a further two, which will be Water and Wood Elements will be covered here.

- Practise a variety of warm up exercises
- Practise a variety of slow gentle movements
- Practise static postures
- Practise slow walks
- Practise standing or sitting meditations
Rate of achievement is largely dependent on personal daily practice. It is recommended that you keep a diary of
your experiences for your own personal reflection purposes.
You should wear loose comfortable clothing and soft indoor shoes. ‘socks only’ practice is not permitted (wooden floors).

Course programme
A variety of warm-up exercises, static postures, gentle movements, slow walks and short standing or sitting meditations will be demonstrated and you will practise these along with the tutor. There will be emphasis on Wu Chi posture as well as ‘movement from the centre’ during practice.
You will be taught through demonstration and active participation. The course tutor will give individual instruction during the class to enhance and develop your practice. Some handouts will also be provided.Additional information
