Course programme
This four day course is endorsed by the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) and has been designed in response to many requests by those involved in the care of children, be they in hospitals, special schools or social services.
The course is designed for staff with responsibility for the health and safety and welfare of others, with regards to the moving and handling of infants, children and/or adolescents, and will provide you with the knowledge, skill and confidence to train others in the skill of safer children handling and to conduct manual handling risk assessments
Course Content Includes:
- overview of current legislation
- causes of back injury and back care advice
- practical demonstrations and practice of safer children moving and handling techniques
- manual handling risk assessment
Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a certificate of achievement which is valid for two years.
