CITB (City & Guilds) Foundation Certificate in Building Craft Occupations

Course content:
The course provides the basic skills required for anyone seeking a career in Construction. You will be working with wood, brick, plaster and paint materials.
There are 6 units within the programme, in areas of;
· Handle and store materials and components.
· Remove and replace fittings and fixtures.
· Cut, lay and fix components.
· Mix materials.
· Apply finishing materials.
· Setting out.

Assessment procedure:
Most assessments are practical in nature and are undertaken at the college.

Qualifications achieved:
Foundation Certificate in Building Craft Occupations

Progression opportunities:
Students can progress onto Wood Occupations and Trowel Occupations Level 1 or higher qualifications once they complete this entry level qualification.

Most full-time students do not have to pay for their course. We may also be able to help you with some of the extra costs associated with college, eg travel, childcare, equipment, books etc. In addition, if you have just left school, you may be eligible for an Educational Maintenance Allowance.
