CITB (City & Guilds) Level 1 Diploma â€" Bricklaying

Course content:
The course provides the basic skills required for anyone seeking a career in Construction.

There are 7 units within the programme, in areas of:
*Carry out Safe working practices.
*Information, quantities & communicating with others 1.
*Building methods & construction technology 1.
*Know how to & carry out basic blocklaying.
*Know how to & carry out basic bricklaying.
*Know how to & carry out basic cavity walling.
*Know how to & contribute to setting out & building basic masonry structures up to damp course level.

Assessment procedure:
Most assessments are practical based and are undertaken within the workshop environment, but there are exams online.

Qualifications achieved:
Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying.

Progression opportunities:
Students can progress onto Btec 1st Certificate/Diploma in Construction course (Level 2).

Most full-time students do not have to pay for their course. We may also be able to help you with some of the extra costs associated with college, eg travel, childcare, equipment, books etc. In addition, if you have just left school, you may be eligible for an Educational Maintenance Allowance.
