Course programme

The Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) is aimed at learners who are already working with adults in a health and social care setting either in a supervisory role e.g. senior care worker, or in an unsupervised role e.g. home support.

The Level 3 Diploma offers learners the opportunity to develop advanced knowledge and skills around nine mandatory units which reflect key principles in care, such as the role of the care worker, equality and inclusion, safeguarding and health and safety. Learners are then able to choose from a range of optional units which they are able to tailor to their current role and specialist area e.g. dementia care, learning disabilities or generic.

Although candidates may be working in an employed or voluntary capacity when taking these qualifications, it is unlikely that volunteers would have the breadth and level of responsibilities needed to complete the Level 3 Diploma. However, if you feel that you have significant experience and responsibilities and are working as a volunteer, please contact the centre to discuss your options.
