Course programme
This two day manual handling train the trainer course, accredited by City & Guilds, is a practical and interactive course to train your own manual handling trainers. It provides the technical knowledge, training skills and course material to allow your people to design, develop and deliver effective manual handling training which is tailored to the needs of your particular audience.
The course is ideal for a wide range of trainers, from those with limited knowledge of manual handling, training and health & safety through to those who are already conducting handler training but want some fresh ideas and techniques to integrate into their programmes &/or want a refresher course. All groups will benefit from the confidence generated in their abilities by achieving City & Guilds certification.
Participants receive a unique manual handling instructor's pack with everything required for running manual handling training sessions. As well as a comprehensive course manual with the technical information, participants receive a CD containing suggested programmes for running 1.5 to 3 hour training sessions, hard copies of lesson plans and useful extras such as test and assessment sheets. Please note, the course focuses on the safe handling of materials and goods (rather than people).
The course is the only nationally recognised manual handling train the trainer course for the manufacturing and service industries. Most courses simply use internal certification.
Dr Alistair Bromhead developed this course and is the only training provider able to offer the qualification as it is a customised course certified by City & Guilds rather than one which is openly available through other training providers.
The in-house course provides the opportunity for the material to be tailored to your company requirements. It also allows us to develop a company specific manual handling training programme for your newly qualified instructors to deliver.
