About this course

Prospective students will need to have completed NVQ Levels 1 & 2 in Professional Cookery or a City & Guilds equivalent. If any applicants are unsure as to which NVQ level is appropriate for them, they should discuss this with the tutor in attendance at public enrolment. Interview to be with tutor.

Course suitability

Course content

1 1/2 hrs Health & Safety Lesson.

1 1/2 hours Food Studies Lesson.

3 1/2 hours practical Lesson including the following units:

Prepare, cook and finish complex fish dishes.

Prepare, cook and finish complex meat and poultry dishes.

Prepare, cook and finish complex cold sauces and dressings.

Prepare, cook and finish complex vegetable dishes.

Prepare, cook and finish complex soups.

Prepare, cook and finish complex hot desserts.

Prepare, cook and finish complex cold desserts.

Establish and develop positive working relationships in hospitality.

Maintain the health, safety and security of the working environment.

Maintain food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food.

Prepare, cook and finish healthier dishes.

Cook and finish complex hot sauces.

Additionality

When will I receive my results?

Results will be forwarded on as soon as they are received at the college. Please note that certificates, where awarded, can take up to 4 months to be received at the college before forwarding on to learners.

Payment options: UK/EU Fee : £730.00 Overseas Fee : £1,513.00 Part-time enrolments are subject to an additional annual registration fee of £10 payable once only per academic year (exemptions may apply).
