This intensive 22 week practical beginner's course is taught by professional film and media practitioners, exploring the whole filmmaking process from concept to completion, from the Apple ethos of 'fast and easy' to more learned approaches. You will explore different aspects of filmmaking and storytelling and develop the necessary skills and techniques to create a short film project. The course will be structured around a series of workshops, practical exercise and shared projects that build your skills and encourage experimentation and the development of a personal voice. There will be a regular screening of projects in progress with group feedback and discussions. You will develop basic skills in structuring narratives, using an HD camera and editing. Later you will develop these skills further as well as introduce actors, directing, sound and learning how to edit a scene. You will then have the opportunity to develop a personal project, with guidance and feedback from the tutors and your classmates,Although this is a non-accredited course, students successfully completing the course will be awarded our City Lit Certificate - based on achievements of the course outcomes and attendance. You can pay for your course in instalments in person at our enrolment counter.
