The City of London, the Square Mile, has 47 gardens, 43 churchyards and 110 other planted areas in 10.5 acres of open space. We will explore the history and planting of a selection of gardens including St Pauls churchyard, Christchurch Greyfriars, Postman's Park, and the herb gardens of the Barber Surgeons Company.

There will be a briefing session in the morning,at City Lit, with illustrated talks and small group activities. After lunch the tutor will take you on a guided garden walk .You can meet at the City of London Tourist Information office opposite St Pauls Cathedral or travel with the tutor to start the walk.
