Course programme
Understanding disease from the medical aspect is very important for the natural healthcare practitioner. Being able to understand the 'language' and communicate with healthcare professionals and also clients fosters trust between the two.
In this Internet age, clients are 'experts' in their own health problems. This course helps build the practitioner's confidence in understanding the medical diagnosis and tests performed by their doctors and, where necessary, explaining them.
We explore:
- Concepts and attitudes of the medical profession
- Tests and investigations,
- Technical terms,
- Diseases and their treatment,
- Observation in medicine - lab tests, scans and x-rays and investigations
- Danger signs and when to refer
- Common drugs and any possible interactions.
There will be home study, and a written exam. Please book at least 5 weeks before the start of the course to receive your pre course study pack
