This qualification emphasises the need for the development of personal management capabilities as a starting point. It focuses then on people and operational management principles and practices, and the development of a basic appreciation of resource control and use. Across all of this it also encompasses the need to make effective use of information in the decision-making process. The new structure has been designed by the CMI in a unit based format following customer requests and for the developing UK and European credit frameworks.  42 credits are required to complete this programme.  Award and Certificate options are also available.
Course Content
- Develop personal development and planning, work planning, relationship building and health & safety
- How to plan, modify and control resources
- How to identify, meet and support stakeholder requirements
- How to gather, analyse and communicate information
- Understand how to identify the development opportunities of individuals and teams to meet team and organisational objectives
- How to identify the need for staff, and the recruitment and selection process
- Understand the impact of individuals performance on teams, recognising performance behaviours and implementing improvement measures
Suitability
The Diploma in First Line Management is designed for team leaders and supervisors who want to develop their management skills and/or aspire to middle management.
