You should study the Exercise and Fitness Knowledge level 2 module first followed by the Gym Instructing or Exercise to Music modules.
We do advise that you complete your assessment for the Exercise and Fitness Knowledge level 2 after either practical course.
Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2
This is a distance learning module supported by workbooks and a fully interactive CD Rom which takes approximately 40 hours to complete.
Gym Instructing
This is a five day intensive module that is included in all fitness instructor courses and personal trainer courses.
Exercise to Music
This is a five day practical module for the aspiring aerobics instructor. You will be required to attend two practical assessment days approximately two weeks after this Exercise to Music module.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course, although we recommend that you have knowledge or experience of the gym and class environment prior to the course.
Assessment and certification
The award is assessed against the National Standards for Exercise and Fitness. You will be required to sit a theory paper as well as completing practical assessments for each discipline. Successful completion will achieve the Lifetime Combined Instructor Award in Gym and Exercise to Music and entry to REPs at level 2. Save £5 on your REPs membership with Lifetime.
