Course Description:
Who is the course for?
  • Individuals currently working as fitness instructors who have few or no relevant qualifications.
  • Individuals who wish to change careers and seek a recognised qualification.
  • Exercise and fitness enthusiasts who wish to become gym instructors, studio- based instructors or recreational assistants.
  • Candidates who hold a Level 1 Certificate in Assistant Fitness Instructing/ Introductory Certificate in Exercise and Fitness Instructing and wish to develop their knowledge, skills and competence to instruct without supervision.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need to fulfil the following requirements:
  • Aged 17 years or over by 31st August 2011
  • 4 GCSE's grade E and above, including English Language, Maths and Science/ Physical Education
  • A keen interest in taking part in fitness classes and exercise in the gym
  • Successful candidates may be required to undertake a CRB check
