Commercial Gas Safety Training
10-day training course, Leading to ACS Commercial Assessment
This training course has been developed to prepare operatives currently working in the Gas Industry (eg, Pipe fitters, HVAC engineers, operatives with Domestic ACS certificates and existing commercial gas operatives with a minimum of 6 months experience) to undertake assessment for the Accredited Certification Scheme for Individual Gas Operatives. (ACS) It is also suitable for persons who work alongside CORGI registered Industrial and Commercial gas engineers and are seeking certification for the first time.
The course runs one day per week over 10 weeks and is divided into sections covering both theory and practical applications. Candidates are required to complete home study exercises during the course. The course concludes with individual candidate pre-assessments, following which candidates will be advised of their suitability to undertake ACS Assessment(s).
While the course will provide candidates with the background knowledge and specific understanding relevant to the ACS Assessment(s), completion of the course does not guarantee successful achievement in the assessment; this is solely dependent on the candidate’s ability to prove his/her competence.
All candidates need to gain relevant on-the-job experience under supervision of a CORGI registered Industrial and Commercial installer prior to undertaking any ACS assessment. The ACS assessments not included in this training course. Candidates must meet current CORGI requirements to gain CORGI registration.
This course is not suitable for new entrants, as relevant previous experience is required.
