This course will help you prepare presentations for the workplace. You will learn how to adapt your presentations to your audience, how to make your introduction interesting and engaging, how to structure your presentation and how to end it. In addition, you will be able to work on your delivery, some pronunciation, how to speak without notes, how to present information such as charts, and how to give reasons and evidence.

This will be a dynamic course with students encouraged to participate actively in class with lots practice and independent work. You will need to do some work outside the classroom to get the most from this course. You will develop research skills through use of the internet and other sources.

Additional information

There are many courses you do next or at the same time. Our other Communication at Work courses would be very helpful including our term long course or the shorter specialist courses in writing reports and conducting meetings. Business - Find the Right word: Advanced might also be appropriate for higher level learners. There are many other courses you can do. You could do one of our general L1 or L2 ESOL classes. Or you could do a course without an exam – for example Read Well, Write Well, Advanced Writing Skills in Practice, Grammar in Practice: Upper Intermediate, Matters of Opinion, ESOL and Making Podcasts, ESOL and Film, ESOL and Singing. Cambridge English: Advanced might also be suitable as would our ESOL Pronunciation Stage 1. Your tutor will advise you on the best course for you.
