Some people we communicate with better with than others - we all know what that feels like. How would it be if you were able to choose to communicate effectively with differing styles of communicator? This short session explores the characteristics of the various communications styles, offering ideas and opportunities for learners to "flex" their style of communication dependant on their audience.
This session primarily focuses on the Social Styles model, which illustrates typical habits within communication. It explores the four communication stances: driver, expressive, analytical and amiable. These four styles are given clarity through their unique combination of preferences for Task or People, Ask or Tell.

Using this insight, learners dissect existing relationships to recognise potential relationship challenges and define strategies to improve ongoing relationships. They also focus on clear and effective communication, making points in meetings or being understood.
This interactive session will help you by:
  • Really listening to what people say and understand their intentions.
  • Ensuring that others listen to you and understand you and your message
  • Build stronger relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Managing your communication style and be flexible to others needs in communication
  • Understanding individual default behaviours of self and others
  • Recognising signals, language and patterns
  • Finding flexible choices for responding to and communicating with challenging colleagues
  • Having the capacity to turn ''difficult'' relationships into effective one
