This course offers a comprehensive and creative approach to learning how to draw. The carefully constructed exercises will take you through the all the steps you need to learn the fundamental drawing skills from scratch. Once this level is reached at the end of term 1 it is possible to continue developing your drawing skills through terms 2 and 3 to complete the full Drawing Course.

- proportional measuring and learning to look
- properties of charcoal, pencil and other drawing materials
- use of tone and texture to suggest form
- gesture and mark-making
- composition and basic perspective.

Demonstration and practical application. One to one and group discussion. Basic materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring any extra or special materials. You can continue to VH882 Complete Drawing Course 2 at the same time on Saturdays in Term 2. Or you may join any of the other Drawing 2, and other Drawing and Painting courses at City Lit.
