About this course
On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Level 2 award. I have worked in the security industry for over 20 years, in various disciplines, including Close Protection, Door Supervision and as a CCTV operative. I utilise a variety of training techniques to ensure every learner feels included within the classroom environment.
Course programme
- The law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace.
- The employer and employee duties in relation to hazardous substance in the workplace.
- The consequences for non compliance.
- Risk assessments and how they contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances.
- The difference between a risk and a hazard.
- The different forms a hazardous substance can take.
- How hazardous substances can enter the body, and the effects that may arise.
- The precautions & procedures necessary to control the risks associated with hazardous substances.
- Hierarchy of control in respect to safe use, handling, transporting, storage & disposal of substances.
- Procedures that should be in place for dealing with an incident involving hazardous substances.
The course is run at our training venue for 4 hours. This qualification is assessed through a 15 question, multiple choice examination. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes and to successfully pass you must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15.
