Overview

The major aim of the Counselling Skills – beginners course is for students to learn the practical skills which are needed by a counsellor in order to work effectively with their clients and students will be introduced to the Person Centred Model of counselling.

Students will also acquire the knowledge and understanding which underpins the skills that they will learn and they will use their newly-acquired counselling skills in practical classroom based activities.  (This will be role play in groups of three or four).

During the follow-on term, students will learn about different theories and models of counselling, and how to work with these in the therapeutic alliance with the client.
You can enrol online onto this course as from Monday 1st August.
