Who is this course for?
This workshop is for students on the Skills for Jobs Programme or Response to Redundancy. It is designed for students entering the job market and provides advice and guidance in preparing a Covering Letter for job applications.

What previous knowledge/experience are required?
None

What will the course cover and what can I expect to do by the end of it?
The course will review letters the students may already use or help them prepare one from scratch. In an increasingly competitive job market your covering letter needs to grab the attention of the employer immediately. This workshop helps you create a letter that will stand out and introduce your CV to potential employers.

What teaching and learning methods will be used on the course?
This is generally a group workshop, which includes an individual review of your covering letter.

How will we assess your progress on the course?
Your progress will be assessed on the overall programme.

What extra study/practice do we expect you to do outside the class?
You will need to tailor the letter depending on the job you are applying to.
