Preservation of a person’s liberty is governed by law. Deprivation of Liberty can however be lawful when in a person’s best interest to protect them from harm. This course will provide delegates with a clear understanding of their responsibilities in safeguarding liberty and the correct procedure to follow for lawful deprivation where this is appropriate. A half-day awareness course is available for care staff who would benefit from a DoLS overview.
