ÿÿTo introduce Common Assessment Framework. To ensure compliance with the "Working togethger to Safeguard Children" 2010. to understand the duties and responsibilities in accordance with the children Act's 1989, 2004, 2008. To introduce National Assessment Framework. To explore the implications for practice. To assist in a more co-ordinated process for inter-agency co-operation. To increase your role in safeguarding children and build networks of support. Suitable for: Those practitioners who's duties require them to act within a supervisory role of colleagues who's work has identified a child at risk or a is party to a disclosure. Identified senior teachers, Year heads etc as Identified as the DP team. Senior staff memebers in sure Start Centres & Youth services, Connections. Housing Associations. Youth Organisations ie sport, Outdoor pursuits, Volunteer,Community & Faith groups etc

About this course
All participants should have Safeguarding and Child Protection responsibilities for their organisation , Sure Start Centre, School, Youth Centre, Community faith or voluntary group. or be a Senior officer, Social Worker, PSA, etc All candidates should have a good working Knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection Issues although the course does unify levels of understanding and operating procedures for all candidates.

Course programme
The course helps the DP understand their roles and responsibilities.
The course is designed to help and assist DP's in the identification of vulnerable children at levels 1 & 2, further those children in need at level 3. through the use of both the Common and National Assessment Framework protocols.
The course helps DP's in consultation with partner agencies, identify when to make a referral and the referral process.
The course identifies duties, roles and responsibilities as identified in "Working Together to Safeguard Children" 2010.
The course delivery involves candidate interaction and understanding that the child is to remain of paramount importance and is to be supported at every stage.
the course re-iterates that information is to be collated, recorded and shared appropriately with partner agencies.
The course looks at sections 17, 27 & 47. children Acts 1989
2004 & 2008 Children Act and at the Education Act 2002, sections 157 & 175.
The DP's responsibilities re Volunteer staff and managing allegations are also visited.
Finally the course assists DP's understand the principles of Parental capacity, Child developmental needs and Family and environmental factors.
