Learn how to develop your ideas into a coherent picture book dummy. Over the course you will work with a variety of media to improve your own personal visual language and deepen your understanding of the relationship between illustration and text. You will also have the opportunity to expand your awareness of current publishing demands, target age ranges and global markets, helping you to better prepare for the competitive world of publishing.

About this course
• Recognise the important relationship between illustration and text
• Be aware of the parameters and scope of the picture book
• Understand how to layout a picture book dummy
• Be aware how to present to publishers
• Develop a rough into a finished spread
• Understand the varying demands of publishers in relation to age range, gender and markets.
The course fee covers basic materials and equipment. It would be very useful for you to bring the following: an A3 sketchbook, a notebook, B and 2B pencils, an eraser and a sharpener or scalpel.
