The Dietetics study programme aims to equip graduates who already have a BSc or MSc in Nutrition with the knowledge, skills and professional attitudes required to practise as a Registered Dietitian.

Course programme

Year 1

Courses are divided into modules. You will normally take:

  • MSc – modules totalling 285 credits

  • PG Diploma – modules totalling 225 credits

  • Advanced Diet Therapy & Medicine (15 credits)
  • Public Health and Healthcare Systems (15 credits)

  • Principles of Clinical Science and Therapeutics (15 credits)
  • Food Service & Catering Management (15 credits)
  • Research Project (60 credits)

You are also required to complete three full-time practice placements during the course:

  • Placement 1 (15 credits)
  • Placement 2 (45 credits)
  • Placement 3 (45 credits)

Dietetics Postgraduate Diploma Pathway
