What will I learn?
This course is designed for those with an interest in the use of digital applications and multimedia. ICT can be used to communicate information using any combination of text, images, sound, video and interactive components such as buttons and hyperlinks. The aim of this course is to provide you with the skills to use the tools and techniques provided by multimedia authoring software to design and create effective multimedia products for specified purposes and audiences. You will investigate a range of existing multimedia products to find out how different components are used to convey a particular message. There are 2 units to this course and they cover a wide range of digital applications. It is a practical course promoting the use of digital applications to enhance your creativity and communications skills. You will develop your project management, presentation, communication and IT skills.

How will I be taught?
You will be taught using a mixture of practical and theory based tuition.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through the successful completion of summative projects for each unit studied and presenting in an portfolio. The summative projects are internally marked and externally moderated by Edexcel who will then select the portfolios for moderation.

What could I do next?
On successful completion of the course you could progress to GCSE's or BTEC Nationals.
