The Level 3 Early Years Educator diploma is suitable for experienced childcare practitioners who are employed to work with children up to age 5, in a day nursery, pre-school or working as a self-employed childminder who undertake tasks associated within the industry that hold some level of responsibility. Consequently, practitioners must be working in a supervisory role or be able to work unsupervised with a minimum of two children. Childminders cannot include their own children in this minimum requirement.

About this course

Candidates must have GCSE Maths and English grade C or above, in order to be counted in the staff ratio and prior to beginning this course, individuals prior achievements will be assessed as to their suitability. Candidates must also have good verbal communication skills and have the opportunity to gain evidence for this qualification within the work place. A minimum of 1 years experience is required working with children
