  • Found working with SDL very easy - my Assessor & IQA very pleasant, knowledgeable & professional throughout. The qualification has enabled me to develop a deeper understanding and also demonstrate my advice, training & management skills. Encouraged to research & report on my findings - found the feedback & assessment given for each task very useful indeed and always felt supported & confident. Excellent value for money - glad that I was able to access this professional qualification locally & within the county - recommended without hesitation.

What I would highlight: CWe have had three complete this course so far and have plans to start 2 more in September. Excellent service and value for money coupled with professionalism and knowledge that suppports their claims - they are extremely helpful & realise what running business is about and this is really nice perspective. Working inobstrusively and always very customer focused - we have used their talents way beyond the qulaifications and they are always creative and approachable. Plan to run out all quals with this company including our volunteers and also clients- they are extremely competitive on price and they get the job done!

What I would highlight: Does not interfere with your work duties and doesn't take over your life in time. It is achieved by 'doing' and this is the obvious way to do it and demonstrate that you CAN! The systems neede to reference and evidence all work are not difficult and all is carefully explained by SDL at all times - so you actualy feel as if you know what you are doing and in control.
You do not need a host of materials to achieve just a file and yourself and workplace provide the resources that give the evidence.
Assessor and Internal verifier are genuinely nice people and are incredibly knowledgeable about area and all training and development - was a pleaseure to work with them and this cannot be stressed highly enough. There were no conflicts whtsoever and this was personally, developmentally and also administratively, They are certainly in control of all procedures and this is nice to know and feel - confidence in them is very high. All expectations were managed and achieved and also constantly discussed - very pleasing.
What could be improved: Nothing apart from finishing the units as became used to the routine of reflection and discussion etc.- wish I could do more! Recommend this to anyone who is working and wants CPD etc.

What I would highlight: Needed to gain min. CEG unit accreditation - SDL were recommended and I approached them and it was so easy to discuss & also secure what I needed. We discussed units and also they carried out a full analysis of where the evidence could be found and how I could achieve - I provide careers guidance already to 14-18s and needed the units for my cpd & employer requirements. SDL are excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the interaction with SDL - would recommend them to all as they are professional and demonstrate confidence and capability at all times. I met assessor and Internal Verifier from SDL and they both were very friendly and personable. As a teacher to undertake extra qualifications is key to keeping up to date - best and most useful thing I have done since graduating some years ago. Enjoyed finding out all aspects of other non-school provision available that I can offer in discussions.

What I would highlight: I completed my level 3 some years ago and in the role/job i was in there was no opportunity to progress and get the Level 4. On changing jobs last year I was able to ask in my appraisal for development and my CEO sanctioned me being able to take the Level 4 as this would assist me in my role and also help me develop as he wanted me to start training other staff and I was able to take units that helped this. He recomended that I go through with SDL as he knew one of the Directors and they had an excellent reputation for success and also value for money. It was painless to enrol and to discuss my requirements as they were so understanding and also could identify potential units quickly that they thought would be a base for my development. my assessor was qualified at level 4 and also was a tutor/trainer and we agreed that i would take the 'delivery units' - really plaesed that I did as I was supported through these at all times and also observed delivering sessions and the best thing was the feedback of how I had done and this went in my file as evidence. The costs were met by my employer and I consider it excellent value as it has enabled me to take on more duties and develop myself and my CEO in my latest review was also similarly pleased and we are going to make SDL our trainers for new staff as they have the right approach and understanding.

What I would highlight: Was able to match what I did at work to the optional units - excellent! Thought I would have problems in achieving this as I am not a traditional IAG person but my work is heavily about people but proved wrong and SDL were brilliant at matching skills to the units. Enjoyed puttting together my portfolio and realise just how much I actually do! SDL staff are very approachable, knowledgeable and also very down to earth and the pace and meetings were exactly right. recommend this to everyone as there was no conflict or problems due to the personalities - they have actually worked in the real world too!!
