Diploma for IT Practitioners (Systems Support and Interactive Media)

This one year Diploma is a vocational course related to ICT in the world of work. It helps you to develop an understanding of ICT and introduces you to some of the skills and knowledge required to work in the area, or go on to further study. You will use ICT systems to present and handle information using interactive / multimedia design software, and you will set up computer hardware and software systems. You will also research and use information resources, undertake graphical design work and investigate and prepare for employment. After successfully completing this course you can enter the world of work or undertake further study.

What will I be doing?
There are four core units, as well as seven additional units. The core units are:

• web design and development
• computer hardware and software
• interactive multimedia design
• preparing for employment

Where do I go from here?
The majority of students progress to the BTEC First Diploma in ICT.
