About this course

The aim of the course is to allow participants to develop a reflective, evaluative and informed practice which will enable them to work with supervisees across theoretical backgrounds.

Participants will be supported in developing their competencies and abilities in evaluating their own practice.

This 12 day (Saturdays & Sundays) training will cover the following:
o Theory and practice of supervision in Counselling and Psychotherapy
o The supervisory relationship
o Good practice in supervision
o Enabling the supervisee to make use of supervision
o Assessment in supervision
o Legal issues
o Diversity in supervision
o Ethical dilemmas and ensuring standards in supervision
o Group and one-to-one supervision
o Working across modalities
o Skills and practice


Qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists

Participants will need to have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience and be currently working as counsellors and psychotherapists. Hold a Diploma level in counselling/psychotherapy qualification, or equivalent.

Supervised counselling/psychotherapy practice for a minimum two years post qualification (supervision must meet BACP requirements of 1.5 hours per month).

This course is recognised as an Advanced Specialist Training by the National Counselling Society

This course will enable you to learn the skills necessary to offer clinical supervision in a variety of settings including private practice, EAP, NHS and line management supervision

In my work I can bring creativity such as: visual arts, masks, puppets, music and movement. My teaching has been based in a variety of settings including Adult Education colleges, private colleges, charities, organisations, staff teams and private practice. I have facilitated a number of groups and bring creativity to my work.

Course programme

This course is open to practitioners from alltheoretical backgrounds wishing to start supervising Counsellors and Psychotherapists or already have experience and wishto gain a formal qualification.
