What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have ESOL teaching practice in an appropriate
context and will need to attend a course briefing meeting.
During the course you will need to teach a lower and a higher
(L1/L2) class. You must have completed the CELTA within the last
five years. You should have either PGCE or a Certificate of
Education. Evidence of appropriate personal language and
communication skills, and language awareness at level 3. You need
to have Maths and IT Skills at Level 2 or evidence of potential to
achieve Level 2 by the end of the qualification. In order to obtain
the final qualification you will need to be registered with the
Institute for Learning.
How will I be assessed?
You must complete 75 hours of teaching practice. A minimum of 4
lessons will be observed by a course tutor. There are a number of
written assignments and an oral presentation.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
