To learn many aspects of drawing the human figure, including measurement and proportion, anatomy, movement, drawing the head from different perspectives, hands and feet,clothing and drapery, and more. We will draw from and be inspired by a variety of sculptures, paintings and clothing/costumes from different time periods. Suitable for: All levels welcome. Great introduction to the human figure for beginners, and an excellent review for more experienced drawers. Classes are structured so that each lesson builds on the last, providing a solid overall introduction to the human figure.

Marcia Teusink has over fifteen years experience teaching art in museums and schools. She has taught in California, New York, Switzerland, and Italy, at places such as the Brooklyn Museum, Pratt Institute of Art & Design, and the Zurich Kunsthaus, among others. Marcia holds an MFA in Visual Art from the City University of New York, Queens College, and is currently studying museum education at the Institute of Education, London University.

Course review:
In four weeks we will cover the basics of drawing the human figure, working from the amazing sculptures and clothing of the Victoria & Albert Museum. Each week is a complete lesson, so come for all four or choose by date and subject matter. Topics will be as follows:Drawing the Human Figure (gesture & proportion); Drawing the Human Head & Face;Drawing Hands & Feet; and Drawing Clothing & Drapery. 10 students maximum.
